The switch is well made, and works flawlessly, a great replacement for my failing switch. I gave this 4 stars because I was bit disappinted in the fit. The switch was a bit large for the opening on Cremina (83 model). It was very difficult to get snapped into place and once installed the sides are visibly pushed in. I use a timer so once it’s switched on it stays on. However, if I were using the switch daily I would be worried about this shorting it’s lifespan. This could selective to my machine, maybe the opening is on the small side, either way I thought it was worth mentioning. Always a pleasure doing business with the guys at Cerini Coffee!!! Hope o stop by my next trip to NYC :-)
As per instruction I pushed on the terminals, inserted the switch in the proper orientation ( the hole or the switch is slightly rectangular to polarize it) and it snapped into place. A PIECE OF CAKE!!
Thanks for making a hard-to-find part available!
The side latches on the switch made it too snug to pop into switch cutout of my Cremina. Had to trim the plastic latches off in order to pop it in. A minor inconvenience at best. Works great now.
They are a little tighter, but fit 100%. We install them everyday on Cremina's without cutting or trimming.
I've been keeping my Olympia Maximatic running for almost 27 years, in part, due to parts available at Cerini. The red, illuminated toggle switch is of a non-standard size not generally available in the U.S. You pay a bit more for the convenience and availability, but I got the part in 48 hours, good enough to get me running again.
These new switches are perfect duplicates of the original Olympia parts for my 1987 Caffarex. Excellent manufacture/quality (made in Italy to boot!) Johnny Cerini guided me in the rebuild of my machine, providing correct parts and work-arounds when necessary. He rebuilt the wiring harness and helped me with extreme speed and patience. He was completely generous with his time and expertise. What an excellent experience in every way, AND my old machine is working as well as it did when it was new. Thank you Cerini Coffee!
Fits my 1980's Olympia Coffex.
I found something that fit with a little modification, but it was narrower and not illuminated, It served its purpose while I waited for this switch from Cerini,
Good luck finding an illuminated red rocker switch with the correct dimensions anywhere else. Heck, finding a square switch is darn near impossible, let alone of the right size.
After 25 years, I finally needed a replacement, but that was my own fault. Most people will never need a replacement. Under the circumstances, I don't mind paying the price for an item which probably languished unproductively in inventory for years. I just glad Cerini can get me the parts I need to keep my Olympia Maximatic machine going another 25 years.
