an improved version of the brass original; 5 minutes to install with simple tools; a good upgrade for older olympia machines; comes with
pouch of excellent silicone grease.
Consider it for a rebuild project

When I rebuilt my '89 Cremina, the steam knob seemed a bit wobbly when open, and the sensitivity seemed a little inconsistent. So based on some other reviews, I decided to order this new part. It made a huge difference! The knob doesn't wobbly anymore, and I think it's because this new one has an extra seal/o-ring on the inside the nut/housing, that holds the shaft in place better. The sensitivity is also perfect now. If you are doing a rebuild, consider just replacing this part. Especially if you have an extremely stubborn hard gasket around that small screw. You can save some time and effort, and probably get better performance in the end.
Better than Original Brass Valve

Works great. Fits great in my Olympia Cremina '67. Operates very smoothly and has great sensitivity.
Valve pops right in.

Rather than deal with the hassle of a steam valve re-build for an Olympia Maximatic, II just bought a new valve and popped it in. It worked flawlessly from the git-go. It turns out that re-build kits don't save that much money and the end gasket is hard to remove. I'll opt for the new valve, complete with gaskets, every time. This is only the second time in 25 years I have had to service or replace the valve.
