Please note this machine only takes ESE Pods.
I got it for a few days and is working perfect and make a good expresso, just what I was looking for.
I had just gotten back from Sicily and was in the need for a good cup of coffee. My old school espresso pot just wasnt doing it anymore because i was looking for that nice creama ontop and the old school pot just cant function that way. I saw this online and purchased it, it was delivered within 1.5 days of my purchase. The ease of use of this machine is great. you just put in the pod pull the plunger down and turn the machine on. Once you have your desiered amount of espresso, just turn the machine off. Its that simple. You get a flavorful cup of coffee with a great layer of creama ontop.
**DO not be alarmed if you do see excess water in the drip tray(knowing you did not drip anything in there yourself), the machine is made to do that, it takes the excess runoff and puts it down into the tray. Johnny from Cerini clarified that for me after i had emailed him(his response was within 30 mins to my email, GREAT Customer Service)
I would highly recommend purchasing this product.
love it!! couldn't be happier with it
No muss, no fuss. Uncomplicated. Excellent quality espresso. And you can make an Americano by taking out the pod and running it with just water (close the lever first). Comes with a great care package.
What a beautifully designed espresso machine. It is stylish and looks great. It has character! I bought it for my office to replace an espresso machine that was dying from so much use. It makes the creamiest espresso ever! Can’t wait to arrive at the office and pour one.
Love this machine!!
I highly recommend this machine to everyone who values true taste of Italian espresso. Don't spend money on more expensive machines. This one has a mechanical lever that reduces the cost of the device, but I believe makes the lifetime longer. I bought it for home and liked it. Then (a month ago) I bought it for our entire department (70 people) and we don't have any problems with the machine as of the time of this review. I decide to buy a machine of this kind (with a mechanical lever) when visited Italy a while ago. The lady who served coffee in our coffee breaks used different coffee machines, so I asked her which one is the best from her point of view. And she pointed to an Espresso machine with manual mechanical lever, like in Intenso One Espresso. And my choice didn't disappoint me as yet.
A special acknowledgement goes to Cerini Coffee staff. They were very accommodating in helping with my various questions/requests. Very smooth and efficient communication. It is clear Cerini Coffee values their customers.
We love both the convenience of E.S.E. espresso pods and the available range of blends / roasts.
We have used a variety of E.S.E machines. About a year ago, we bought the Intenso One pod machine through Cerini.
We love it! The machine has a modest footprint compared to others we have owned, so it fits well on our counter-top. The reservoir is appropriately sized for a home machine. The temperature and heat level are perfect for a nice cup of espresso. The actuating lever allows a feather-touch to lock a pod into place for brewing.
It is *almost* a perfect machine. I want to give it 4.5 stars, but that rating is not accepted by the system.
How is it not totally perfect? Well, after about six months the lever action began to become progressively more difficult. Soon we had to "fight" the lever to open the jaws that hold the pod in place. We were sad, but kept struggling.
Finally I opened up the machine. To do this requires the removal of 6 screws. The thermoblock is right at the top part of the "jaws" that clench the pod. it has two holes at the side that slide up and down the vertical guide rails that control the movement and positioning of the upper "jaw".
I applied a good layer of high-temperature grease to the guide rails and reassembled the machine.
Good as new! It was again a joy to use.
If you get this machine and encounter the problem, do not despair, six screws.. lubricate the rods.
So, I did not give the machine five stars because I do not think a device should require maintenance (other than descaling) after only six months. But the solution is not difficult, and does not require the expenses and delays involved with returning the device to the vendor.
Bottom-line? I would definitely recommend this machine!
I have some extensive traveling under my belt and one thing you come to love during traveling abroad is a good espresso to get up and go. I wanted a machine, just like the ones I have used during my travels to easily pop a pod into, make my espresso and get going. Well I couldn't be happier! I didn't expect much from this machine but what I got was something fantastic. I bought this in January and make an espresso every morning right when I wake up. The machine heats up quick dispenses a great espresso with lovely creme. For awhile I was getting fancy and making lattes and cappuccinos and who else knows what with this machine and the Brevely milk frothier (great additional buy by the way from bed bath and beyond website). I searched for three months trying to find something for me and this machine hit it out of the park. If your the type of person who analyzes coffee while you drink, you could buy something more expensive but it would be a waste when you could have bought this. I don't write reviews often, but when something is a great as this, it needs to be heard. P.S. Full disclosure, I got mine from this stores Amazon front so you may see this message there as well.
