Saeco Ventilate Message no water flow not making coffee

When you have a ventilate message on Saeco or Gaggia Super-Automatics there are a few things to consider.
  • Grind size:
    • If your coffee is too fine the pump will not be able to pump through it, and it will cause ventilate messages. 
      • Fix:  Increase your coffee grind-size.  Be sure to make 3-4 cups before considering the coffee grind. 
  • Brew unit needs to be cleaned and serviced:
    • Soak the brew unit in soap and water for about an hour.
      • Dry and Lubricate the brew unit.
        • Put everything back and try the machine again.
  • Descaling
    • If you haven't been descaling you should try to descale at this point. 
    • If you have been descaling, I would try again just in case it is a descaling issue. 
    • Descaling should be done every 2-3 months.
